Download A Netflix Movie On Mac: Best Methods and Tools

The Netflix app for iOS supports AirPlay, a proprietary protocol stack developed by Apple, which allows wireless streaming between devices of multimedia content. This means that you can stream Netflix movies and shows from your iOS devices to any AirPlay-enabled devices over local Wi-Fi. And because the app also supports offline downloads, you have everything you need to enjoy Netflix offline on your Mac. Well, almost everything. You also need an app like AirServer so you can receive AirPlay streams on your Mac.

Since its invention, Netflix has proved to be an innovative streaming service that offers a vast library of movies and TV shows. You can find just about anything you want to watch, from the trending programs to obscure classics from years past. One of the features that endear Netflix to movie enthusiasts is the ability to download movies. You can save your favorite movies in your local storage and watch them whenever you want.

Before trying anything complex, it may be helpful to look closer to home. Netflix has already developed an app for other devices in the larger Apple family, including iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. These apps come with a download option. You can save your movies on your local storage and watch them later, even without an internet connection. Most importantly, you can then transfer these files to your Mac using QuickTime Player.

QuickTime Player is a digital media playback tool that comes bundled with the MacOS. It recognizes and plays all of the main video formats. It can also be used to capture, record, and share movies or music.

Netflix has already developed an app for Windows operating systems that allows you to download content on your PC. Although Mac computers primarily run on MacOS, you can install Windows 7 (or higher) on your Mac. How can you do it? The solution is Boot Camp.

Netflix users have long been allowed to watch Netflix content on MacBooks and Mac desktops. To do so, all you need is a web browser such as Safari, Chrome, or Microsoft Edge. Unfortunately, none of these options lets you download content for offline use. And, to date, there is no Netflix app for macOS.

These limitations are why our first recommendation has nothing to do with Mac. Despite this, it might be a better long-term solution. Rather than Mac, watch downloaded (and offline) Netflix content on your iPhone or iPad.

If your plan is to watch multiple episodes of a series offline, you should turn off smart downloads. To do so, tap the Downloads icon at the bottom right of the Netflix app. From there, choose Smart Downloads at the top, then toggle off Smart Downloads on the next page.

Okay, so the solution above did not technically satisfy the need to legally watch downloaded Netflix content from your Mac. A true solution is to install Windows 10 onto your Mac using Apple Boot Camp or a virtualization software package like Parallels.

However, you do it, once you install Windows 10 onto your Mac, go into the Microsoft Store and download the official Netflix app. Once you log into your account, shows that can be downloaded are marked with an icon.

And yet, perhaps the best solution is to forget about your Mac and download content to your iPad instead by using the Netflix app. Otherwise, stay tuned. Hopefully, Netflix and Apple eventually correct this wrong.

If you're a Mac user and you have a Netflix account there are a few steps you can take - all legal - to get the best viewing experience. While you can't just download your show you can try the follow the workarounds.

That's not clear. The question is how does one download on a mac. The answer was how to download on other devices. That's not an acceptable form of answering the question. "That's currently not available on the Mac OS" is an acceptable answer. Don't send people on a wild goose chases for the sake of appearing like you're being helpful.

I agree with the poster - The answer is over complicating the situation. The simple concise answer is. No I am sorry Netflix do not support downloads on the Mac OS. Instead the answer told you all the devices you CAN download content from Netflix with. Yes it answers the question, if you think about it, but it is over complicating a simple answer to a simple question. I was also looking for the answer to the question. And quite frankly you guys (and I appreciate your not paid) ganged up and were rude and condescending to the poster. Sorry but I felt like I had to respond, because they were correct. Just because you don't get paid gives you no right to be condescending.

1. Download Parallels Desktop and install it. You can do so by following this link (opens in new tab). The install wizard will take you through the Windows 11 download and install process.

Netflix is by all means one of the most popular streaming services in existence. Not only can you watch movies and TV shows online through the Netflix app or your browser, but you can also download content to your device for offline viewing.

Since there is not yet a Netflix app designed specifically for Mac users, don't try to download suspicious apps from the web. The only Netflix apps that you can trust are located on the official Netflix website. 2ff7e9595c
