Windows 10 is activated but still keeps asking for Activation: Learn how to use the Activation troub

You upgraded to Windows 11, but the activation servers were busy. If you upgraded from an activated copy of Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, your copy of Windows 11 will be automatically activated, or you can wait a while and then select Activate. If you continue to have problems with activation, contact customer support.

Windows 10 is activated but still keeps asking for Activation

You upgraded to Windows 11 using the free upgrade offer, but Windows 11 isn't activated after a reinstall. Your copy of Windows 11 should automatically be activated as long as you didn't make any significant hardware changes to your device (such as replacing the motherboard). If you continue to have problems with activation, contact customer support.

I recently got windows 11 on my laptop, and a popup message keeps showing and telling me to activate my windows, but in settings, it says that my windows is already activated. It really makes me nervous because I don't know what to do

If you discover that your license is from MSDN or TechNet, what probably happened is, you bought an MSDN licensed key, which carries up to 10 activations, unlike full packaged retail licenses which only carry 1 activation. The person who sold it to you probably sold it to 10 other people. Somewhere along the way, one of those persons might have installed it on a second system, activated it. Because it went past the 10 activation threshold, Microsoft detected that it was being abused and blocked the key from further use.

question then say that i have 2 desktops and 3 hard drives all of them have windows and i take harddrive 3 and make it windows 10 from windows 7 on computer b and then go to computer a and launch the hardrive on it useing its windows 10 why does it now say windows 10 is not activated because that happened to my 1tb that is windows 10 home please help

I previously had a windows 7 home premium original copy which I did bought spending my money. It worked well. After win 10 launch I could successfully upgrade to windows 10 and the copy got activated automatically. There were talks around saying Microsoft is giving away free windows activation this time. So i made a USB copy of windows 10 PRO in to my flash drive and I DID A CLEAN INSTALL FROM THAT VERY COPY. Now I have Windows 10 PRO not activated. I cannot activate this using my windows 7 home premium product key. PLEASE HELP!

I have a new Dell that seems to have been pre-loaded with a Windows Store eval version of Office. I removed it and installed our licensed version of Office 2016 Pro Plus. The license is activated but the activation window keeps popping up. This started occurring only after updating Office from Windows update.

A Multiple Activation Key (MAK) activates systems on a one-time basis, using Microsoft's hosted activation services (which require connection with a Microsoft activation server). Once computers are activated, no further communication with Microsoft is required.

Although there is no official statement from Microsoft on how long you can use Windows 10 without activation, it is pretty annoying and unusual that your activated Windows 10 is suddenly having not activated issue. If you are getting an Activate Windows watermark all of a sudden on your screen, we will help you fix this. If you already activated your Windows 10 installation with an original product key/digital license, the following troubleshooting tips will help you get it back and remove that pesky watermark.

command to activate. Every time it says Windows is activated successfully but still I get that PC Settings Annoying message to Activate Windows. I really don't want to use One Key Recovery on my laptop, I appreciate any help to fix this issue.

Note that you CANNOT use the Product key that is reported by certain "Product key recovery" Tools because computer manufacturers often install a preactivated windows that is using a generic key & a special certificate for activation.

If you have previously installed a trial version of MS Office on your machine and now have a paid Office 2016/2019/365 version installed, but Office always asking for activation, continue below to correct the problem.

Once you complete the steps, you should see the "Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account" message on the "Activation" settings page. You can now upgrade the device with the new hardware and use the reactivation instructions below.

Since the initial release of Windows 10, Microsoft has been making many improvements, including changes to the activation process. However, there are still scenarios where you may run into activation problems, which is when the troubleshooter can make things easier to help users upgrade their computer's hardware without hassle.

I installed a trial version that expired after 30 days since my order (retail business) did not arrive in time. Since then, I have been trying to activate ATIH 2012 for over 2 weeks now, but I have been unsuccessful. I keep having this error message that the ATIH needs activation and it will not work otherwise, I cannot do anything with it.I contacted Customer support and "chatted" with 7-8 different agents and spoke on the phone with another 2 (also asked for a supervisor). They are not able to solve the problem (also one agent made some changes to my computer that were not necessary and were permanent).I get these error messages every time i turn on the computer and the Customer support is doing nothing to help me. I asked for a supervisor to contact me and I am still waiting (over a week).By the way they say that Customer support is 24/7: that is not true. try to call them during the weekend and you will not get anyone to help you. my case has been escalated (at least it is what they said) but no one has contacted me in the last 4 days...............case number is 01356325 ..........really bad Customer service..........

If you're still having troubles with the activation process, it would be best to give us a call. We can do thorough investigation to know what caused the behavior. Please refer to the phone number given by my colleague above.

It may not work for this but what i did was put manual to 1 and put the rest of the stuff in activation to 0 restart it shows your windows version and stuff in the bottom left but if you go into a game or browser it isent there)

I also had TurboTax keep asking for the license code to activate an already activated TurboTax on my computer. I called the customer service help desk and was informed that TurboTax will ask for the license code again because I switched something on my computer, like a thumb drive, and that counts as a second activation - ON THE SAME COMPUTER. The Tier 2 representative that the help desk person was relaying information to says that there is nothing that they can do. I would have to purchase another license code in order to use the already activated one that I have on 1 computer. What a scam! I don't know why Intuit would think this is a good idea and think people would continue to throw their money away on something that locks you out of something because you switched out a thumb drive. UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!

A less common problem, but one still worth mentioning, occurs in business situations. If Windows was activated from an enterprise server, and it loses contact with that server, Windows will show the "activate Windows" watermark after some time.

This got rid of the error, but I still have a problem launching Matlab. Each time I launch it (by typing "matlab" in terminal), the Mathworks software activation window pops up. I provide the path to the licence file, it appears to activate successfully (no errors), but then Matlab doesn't launch. If I try to run it again, the same thing happens.

Way too old thread but viewed 4523 times and active 16 days ago so still relevant I guess. Here is how you solve it. In my case the folder "/.matlab/R2015a_licenses/" did not exist. though "/.matlab" did. So I created R2015a_licenses. Now the problem is this folder was accessible only to root. So the activation application could not write the required file. So change the permission of this folder using "sudo chmod 777 R2015a_licenses". Now run matlab normally(no sudo). It should take you to the activation client. otherwise run the activation client manually(no sudo), it is called "activate_matlab.sh" in the bin folder. follow the steps and let it detect the user-name and do not change it. when it exits without error you are done with the licence part. Now there could be another problem that your matlab freezes just after the opening window and doesn't go any further. Take a look at this. "Go to the ".matlab/" directory in the users home directory. Rename the directory named after the version of MATLAB you are using to have _old at the end. If there is a folder with "_licenses" in the name, DO NOT rename that folder" kind of worked. By kind of I mean matlab complained that it cant write preferences in "/.matlab". So I changed the permission for that folder by "chmod" and then it worked.
